IELTS Speaking questions in 2 more versions were shared by our Aussie friends J and Y. Here is what they remembered:

Speaking test 1

Interview

– What is your full name?
– Please show me your identification.
– What is your favorite animal? Describe it.
– Why do you like it?

Cue Card

Talk about a toy you liked as a child, please say
– What toy it was,
– When you got it,
– Where you could play with it,
– Why you liked that toy.

Discussion

– What difference is there between games for children in the past, and games for children now?
– Can computer games help a child interact with other children better?
– Do you think games should be educational?
– If you had children, would you allow them to play computer games?
– Do you think that the relationships of children and their parents suffer these days because of computer games? Why?
– How can we solve this problem?

Speaking test 2

Interview

– Do you like shopping at a big shopping center?
– What is the difference between women’s way of relaxation and men’s?

Cue Card

Describe a piece of electronic equipment (not a computer) which you find very useful at home, please say:
– What is it?
– How do you use it? Why is it useful?

Discussion

– Let’s talk about the equipment in offices. Do you think it is important to use equipment at work?

IELTS test in Australia – June 2010 (General Training)

IELTS exam in Australia was shared by our kind friends J and A, who remembered the following:

Listening test

Section 1. Real estate agent talks to a tenant who has to fill a form.

Section 2. Interior design for a company, organization of the space, renovations, etc.
Questions: filling in the gaps in a table.

Section 3. Holiday tips.
Questions: multiple choice.

Section 4. Library system in the past.
Questions: filling in the gaps and short-answer questions (no more than 2 words).

Reading test

Passage 1. About different events (gardening, singing, music, arts).
Questions: match a paragraph to information on events.

Passage 2. Car insurance and warranty.
Questions: True/False/Not Given.

Passage 3. Employee dispute / complaint.
Questions: filling in the gaps.

Passage 4. Depression in Egypt in the past.
Questions: information matching and multiple choice.

Writing test

Writing Task 1 (a letter)

You have recently done a short-term course in an English-speaking country and found one of the teachers to be very good. Write a letter to that teacher to
– thank her/him,
– say why you liked his/her lessons,
– say what your further plan of study is.

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

It is often said that people over 60 should not work any more because of the problems they create, the employers should make them retire. Do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your opinion.
