Hi there!

IELTS-Blog founder and author of IELTS self-study books 'Target band 7' and 'Ace the IELTS'

I am glad that you made it here. This website will help you prepare for the IELTS test by yourself. Yes, you can actually do it, and I am a living proof to that.

This blog is something I desperately needed while studying for my IELTS exam. I hope that it will make your life a lot easier by supplying you with tips, practice, resources and advice, all put together in one place. You will learn here about the problems I had, preparing for the IELTS exam, and how you can avoid repeating my mistakes.

Believe it or not, you and I have more in common than you think!

English is not my first language. That’s why I had to take the IELTS test, just like you have to. When I started searching for information online, to prepare for my IELTS exam, it took me a very long time to find, compare and test on myself different techniques and tips. I made every mistake I could make because I just couldn’t find any friendly help on my level.

To tell you the truth, many IELTS prep websites looked a bit scary and full of words I only partially understood. The problem with all the books and courses I tried was, that they were written by native English speakers – that’s why they don’t really understand the difficulties that people experience if they weren’t born into English.

This was the reason why I wrote 2 IELTS preparation books, “Ace the IELTS” for General Training and “Target Band 7” for the Academic Module. My goal was to make IELTS preparation simple, clear and manageable, not scary or confusing. And I achieved it, because since then my books helped 100,000’s of students get their target IELTS scores.

That was the very beginning of my journey. Since then I made IELTS-Blog.com my full-time commitment to help people take IELTS and get the score they need. This became my life’s work and I am giving it my 100%.

To get the best results for my students, I partnered with former IELTS examiners, experienced educators with insider knowledge of IELTS, to really get to the bottom of this test. Together we published many more books that break down IELTS preparation into simple steps and guide you every step of the way until you reach your goal. And it may be a Band 7, or Band 8 , or even Band 9!

My IELTS test was a success and my dream became a reality. But even now, years after my IELTS, I haven’t forgotten all the problems and difficulties I once had. In fact, I re-live them through every student who turns to me, seeking help, and I use the knowledge I gathered and techniques I developed to prepare those students for the IELTS exam.

Come and prepare for IELTS with us. The whole idea of IELTS-Blog.com is for you not to do this alone, to get help when you need it, and to give something back when you can. In this wonderful online community we all share our knowledge and experience, and help each other improve our English skills.
