IELTS General Training exam in the Philippines had the same listening section as the Academic exam , so our friend M says. Here are the other parts he remembered:

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a letter)

You are leaving your flat and going away for a period of time. Write a letter to your flat-mate about your keys that you left somewhere inside your flat. In your letter say

- why you had to leave and describe the location of your keys,
- how long you will be away,
- what you want him to do when you come back.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some people say that schools should teach discipline and the difference between the right and wrong ideas; while others believe it should be the parents’ responsibility. Do you agree or disagree?

Speaking test

Interview

- What is your name?
- Where are you from?
- More general questions.

Cue Card

Describe a journey to a place that you would like to take, please say:
- where the place is,
- what type of transport you would choose,
- what the purpose of your journey is.

Discussion

Why do you prefer to travel in an airplane?
In your country, what type of transport do you use the most?
