You’re about to see 22 people who received great IELTS results and won in our June competition. They obviously did something right in their exam preparation! Our high achievers of the month come from 9 different countries and their scores range from Band 7 to Band 8.5. I know you probably can’t wait to see who won, so here goes:

This is a special moment for our winners, and to make sure it doesn’t go unnoticed we are sending them certificates of achievement. Winning IELTS results of June will be displayed in the IELTS-Blog hall of fame.

As always, we would love to learn from the experience of our winners. Some of them, I know, are our students – Anastasia Fomina prepared by “Target Band 7”, and Vardan Vardanyan and Dan Stockinger used “Ace the IELTS” book. As for the others… we hope to find out soon!

IELTS test in India – June 2013 (General Training)

Our Indian friends S and V shared this exam update. They didn’t remember the Listening topics, but did a great job with all other sections:

Passage 1. About different kinds of shopping experiences.

Passage 2. About worker roles and their responsibilities.

Passage 3. About a painter (don’t remember the name), describing her works and early life.
Questions: True / False / Not Given, match paragraphs to people.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a letter)

Write a letter to you supervisor asking for a one-day leave, so that you could help your friend. In your letter

– Describe the problem of your friend.
– Say how you are going to help him/her.
– Suggest how you will complete work tasks on the requested date.

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

In some countries today young people are less respectful and polite to others. What could be the reasons behind such behavior? What can be done about it?

– How do you commute usually?
– How could transport services in your city be improved?
