IELTS Speaking questions from Ireland and Portugal – April 2010

IELTS exams in Ireland and Portugal were identical to the test in the UK (as expected), and here are another two versions of the Speaking test, shared by our kind friends X and P:

Speaking test Ireland

– What is your full Name?
– Can I see your ID?
– Where are you from?
– Do you live in a house or a flat?
– What do you like about your house?
– Would you recommend people to live there?
– Why?

– Do you read newspapers or magazines?
– What articles do you like reading in a newspaper?
– Why do you like them?
– Have you ever read a newspaper in a foreign language?
– Do you think reading a newspaper in a foreign language is a good way of learning the language?

Cue Card
Tell me about a shop that you like, please say:
– What is the name of the shop?
– How did you know about it?
– Why do you like shopping there?

Is there a difference between men’s attitude and women’s attitude to shopping?

Speaking test Portugal

– What is your full name?
– What do you do (work, study)?
– Why did you choose to study at your University?
– Do you like cooking?
– Who does most of the cooking where you live?
– Do you think classes with less students are better than classes with lots of students?

Cue Card
Describe a school where you studied, please say:
– where it was,
– what the classrooms were like,
– how the teachers were in that school.

– What is the role of school in students’ education?
– Do schools care about whether their students have access to a sports facility?
