Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given a graph showing the percentage of money spent on health in Japan, Italy, France, Germany and the USA in 2002.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

In many countries it is easy to apply and to get a credit card. However, credit card debt causes many problems and is hard to pay back. Do you think the advantages of credit cards overweight the disadvantages?

Section 1. A discussion between two friends who want to send various gifts to their school/college friends with a courier/mail service.

Section 2. A discussion of a man and a woman about their habits, opinions, daily routines, and also about a career as a football player or a referee.

Section 3. Don’t remember.

Section 4. A research into sleeping habits of various mammals.

Reading test

Passage 1. About a train company called Southpress. Description of their process, system, equipment, details required for routine upkeep, housekeeping and cleanliness of train coaches.
Questions: True/False/Not Given.

Passage 2. An advertisement of various shops selling antiques located at the local market.
Questions: locate information from the passage.

Passage 3. Safety policy of a company regarding ergonomics while working on computers.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Passage 4. An overtime work policy of a company stating eligibility criteria, hours, wages and so on.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Passage 5. A research report about African Grey Hornbill (a bird).
Questions: filling in blanks, multiple choice, match the author’s opinion to a paragraph.

Writing task 1 (a letter)

You want to book a conference hall at the hotel for a meeting with your colleagues. Write a letter to the hotel manager stating your requirements and say
