Writing task 1 (a letter)

Write a letter to your manager asking for a training course, which you would like to attend. In your letter explain

– what the course is,
– why it is required for your job,
– how you will manage work while doing the course.

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

Some people believe that information available in the internet will end the era of newspapers and magazines. Do you agree or disagree? Give your own opinion and examples.

IELTS test in the UK and Saudi Arabia – April 2014 (Academic Module)

IELTS test takers C and A from the UK and Saudi Arabia shared the following exam update:

Section 1. A phone conversation between a jobs seeker and an employment agency.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Section 2. An induction given by a teacher to new students, including description of different subjects and where they are located.
Questions: match a subject with the correct room number.

Section 3. Don’t remember.

Section 4. A research presentation about the importance of salt in Sweden.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Reading test

Passage 1. About the history of public transport.

Passage 2. On how contagious yawning and empathy can be.

Passage 3. About the use of misleading words in Science and how they affect the knowledge of ordinary people.

We were given a graph comparing the percentage of men and women employed in different occupational areas.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Celebrities are usually famous for glamor and wealth rather than their achievements. Some say taking them as an example can be dangerous for young people. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
