Our lovely student P.F. remembered the following Speaking questions from her recent IELTS exam in Canada:

Speaking test

Part 1 (Interview)

– Where do you live?
– Do you live in a flat or a house?
– How long have you lived there?
– What do you like most about your home?
– Is there anything you would like to change about it?
– Do you prefer living in a house or an apartment? Why?

Part 2 (Cue Card)

Describe an event where you did not like the music. You should say:

– what the event was
– what kind of music was played
– who you were with

and explain why you did not enjoy the music.

Part 3 (Discussion)

– Should music be included in the school curriculum? Why or why not?
– How do you think school students benefit from learning music?
– What role does art play in education?
– Do you think art subjects are valued as much as academic subjects?
– How can music influence young people’s development?
– Should schools invest more in creative subjects such as music and art?
