Writing test

Writing Task 1 (a report)

There was a diagram showing how to recycle glass bottles that we had to describe.

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

Some people think that air travel creates a great deal of pollution and consumes a considerable amount of fuel resources. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? Give reasons and examples from your own personal experience.

Interview

– What is your full name, please?

– Describe the most famous thing in your home town.

Cue Card

Describe a great celebration that you participated in, please say:
– what is this celebration?
– what did you do?

Discussion

IELTS test in the Philippines – September 2010 (Academic Module)

IELTS exam questions were shared by A from the Philippines, here is what she remembered:

Listening test

Section 1. A student was inquiring about a part time job.
Section 2. School orientation session for parents.
Section 3. A chemistry student was inquiring about options of changing courses.
Section 4. A topic about marine life.

Reading test

Passage 1. The importance of paper versus computer.
Passage 2. About Darwin’s finches (medium ground finch and cactus
finch).
Passage 3. About TV addiction and its effects.

Writing test

Writing Task 1 (a report)

There was a bar graph showing the number of people and their reasons for visiting a certain town, the frequency of visits on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly basis and those who never visited. The reasons given were education, work, entertainment, to visit people, and shopping.

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

Children of ages 7-11 now spend more time watching television and/or playing video games than before. What are the effects of this on children, family and society? What are the possible solutions to this situation?
