IELTS Writing Test – General Training
Writing task 1 (a letter)
Your friend is coming to your city to attend a family wedding. You have booked a hotel for him/her, but you are unable to pick him/her up at the airport. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
– Explain why you cannot meet him/her at the airport
– Describe how he/she can get to the hotel
– Offer to meet him/her later at the hotel
Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Writing task 2 (an essay)
Some people believe that older employees are more valuable to a company than younger employees. Others believe that younger employees are more useful.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
