IELTS Writing Test – General Training

Writing task 1 (a letter)

You recently became a member of a sports club, but you have noticed some issues that need to be addressed. Write a letter to the club manager. In your letter:

– Explain why you decided to join the sports club.
– Describe the problems you have encountered.
– Suggest what the manager could do to improve the situation.

Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some parents believe that reading books for entertainment is a waste of time for children and that they should only read educational books.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
