Part 1 (Interview)

Part 2 (Cue Card)

Describe a quality you learned or inherited from one of your grandparents. You should say:

– whether this quality is helpful

and explain why this quality is important to you.

Part 3 (Discussion)

IELTS Writing Test – General Training

Writing task 1 (a letter)

You recently received an information pack from a school, but some important details were missing. Write a letter to the head of the school. In your letter:

– Explain what information was missing
– Describe how this has affected you
– Suggest what the school can do to prevent this in the future.

Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Many small local shops are closing due to competition from large supermarkets and shopping centres.

Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages for shoppers?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
