IELTS test in India – April 2014 (General Training)

Listening testIELTS test in India

Section 1. A discussion about film making.
Questions: filling in blanks, table completion of films.

Section 2. A discussion between two friends about a survey on a few cities.
Questions: multiple choice, match headings to cities.

Section 3. Don’t remember.

Section 4. About a manufacturing company.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Reading test

Passage 1. Different kinds of hotels.
Questions: short-answer questions, True/False/Not Given.

Passage 2. Information about car parking and car rental at the airport.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Passage 3. Information given by HR management
Questions: filling in blanks.

Passage 4. A story about one scientist and his tour around the world.
Questions: True/False/Not Given, match headings to paragraphs.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a letter)

You are planning a holiday in another country. Write a letter asking your friend to join you and explain

– Why are you taking a holiday?
– What is your holiday plan?
– Why would you like him/her to come?

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

We are facing too many noise problems these days. What are the main causes of this situation? What can be done about it?

Speaking test

Interview

– What is your full name?
– Can I see your ID?
– Where are you from?
– Do you work or study?
– Do you work in the same field that you studied?
– Describe your high school.
– What was your favourite subject?
– Why did you like it?
– Were there lessons in your favourite subject that you disliked? Why?

Cue Card

Talk about an activity that you would like to do with older people. Please say

– What would you like to do?
– When and where would you do it?
– How often would you do it?

Discussion

– When did you perform last time?
– What do older people do in your country?
– What do people do together?
– What other activity should families do together?
– Why is it beneficial for them?
– Do you think husbands and wives both should work? Why?
– What is your favourite animal or pet?
– Do you like pets? Why?
