Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given two pie charts showing the consumption of electricity in eight sectors in Australia between 2007 and 2010.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Giving lectures in auditoriums to large numbers of students is an old way of teaching. With the technology available today there is no justification for it, and everything should be done online. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your own opinion.

Speaking test 1

Interview

– What is your full name?

– Do you work or study?
– What is the most interesting thing about your studies?
– What other subjects do you study? Why?
– What is more important for the education process, teachers or students?
– Let’s talk about text messages.
– On what occasions do you usually send messages?
– Have you ever experienced an inconvenience when you received a text message?
– Would you prefer to get good news over the phone or via message?
– Let’s talk about movies.
– What kind of movies do you enjoy watching? Why?
– How often do you go to the cinema?

Cue Card

Describe an educational trip you went on at school. Please say

– Where and when did you go?
– What did you do there?
– Explain what you have learned from that trip.

Discussion

– How many times did you go on such trips during your school years?
– How did you feel about it?
– What kind of educational trips are common in your country?
– Is it important for children to go there with a teacher? Why?
– How can parents support their children at home?
– How important is it for older people to study at home?
