IELTS exam in Australia – February 2010 (General Training)

IELTS test in Australia was shared by A. and K.(thank you!), who remembered the following details:

Listening test

Section 1: A talk about a day trip, e.g rock climbing, picnic, the equipment required , and the price.
Section 2: School course availability.
Section 3: An injured student asks for a course extension.
Section 4: Different study methods, interactive study compared to traditional study.

Reading test

Passage 1: Selecting from the different organizations, which ones could meet a certain criteria.
Passage 2: Cherry picking jobs, introducing the criteria, payment, accommodation and transportation, etc.
Passage 3: Don’t remember.
Passage 4: Introducing different types of ants; small, medium, large, soldiers and the queen ant, their functions.
Questions: Filling in the blanks, matching certain characteristics to the types of ants.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a letter)
You are a football player, but you have to leave the team for a while, write a letter to your team-mate and say:
– why you have to leave,
– how much you love the football team,
– when you are coming back.

Writing task 2 (an essay)
There is a general increase in anti-social behavior and lack of respect to others. What are the causes? What can be done to address this problem?

Speaking test

Interview
The typical questions.

Cue card
Describe something that you have made by yourself. You should say:
– Why you have made it,
– When you have made it,
– What you needed in order to make it.

Discussion
– What kind of things do people like making by themselves?
– What kind of skills do people need to make things?
– What is the difference between handmade products and factory made products?
