– Were you walking a lot as a child?

Cue Card

Talk about a song that you remember from the childhood. Please say

Discussion

– Do you think music is important in our life?

IELTS test in Brazil – February 2012 (Academic Module)

Our kind friend T from Brazil has shared the IELTS exam he recently took. Here is what T remembered:

Listening test IELTS test in Brazil

Section 1. A man was talking with a call center operator to get information about a software event in Toronto.
Questions: fill missing information in blanks.

Section 2. A radio show in Australia was played where a woman talked about places to visit.
Questions: multiple choice.

Section 3. A student was talking with his tutor about academic issues and how to solve them.
Questions: sentence completion.

Section 4. A lecture about passion fruit in Indonesia.
Questions: Multiple choice and sentence completion.

Reading test

Passage 1. A text about the importance of parks.
Questions: match headings to paragraphs, match authors to their quotes.

Passage 2. A text about fibers and fabrics.
Questions: multiple choice, True/False/Not Given.

Passage 3. A text about a few first months of newborns’ development. There was also an explanation on newborns’ brain development with focus on how babies perceive languages.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given 3 charts describing electronic games activity in South Korea. The charts provided information about age, gender of the players and the bestselling types of games. We had to summarize and compare that information.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Many people say that companies and private tour operators should pay the bills for cleaning up pollution, instead of the government. To what extent do you agree or disagree with that?
