Cue Card

Describe a street that you know well and really like. Please say

Discussion

– Does anyone you know feel the same about this street? Why?
– What aspects are important to choose the right place for a shopping centre?
– How should shopping centres’ owners advertise them and motivate people to visit them?

IELTS test in the UK and India – December 2015 (Academic Module)

Three IELTS test takers (thanks L, M and S!) took their exams in the UK and in India and said that writing topics were identical in the two countries. Here is what they remembered:

Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given a map of farm lands that were converted into developed areas in the decade from 1980 to 1990.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some people believe they are entitled to all the money they earn, to spend everything on themselves, instead of paying part of their salaries in taxes to the state. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give your own opinion and examples.
