IELTS Speaking questions were shared by our kind friend A from Australia. She says that the questions in Writing were just like in a recent exam in France. Here is what A remembered:

Speaking test

Interview

– What is your home country?
– Where do you live now?
– What activities are you into?
– What is your favorite color?
– What color would you paint your house?
– What is the favorite colors of the people in your home country?

Cue Card

Talk about your favorite toy as a child, please say
– who gave it to you,
– where and when you were playing with it,
– why it was important to you.

Discussion

– Questions about toys.
– Why boys’ and girls’ toys are different?
– How do toys influence kids’ future life?
– Questions about kids’ education.
– Questions about computers’ and video games’ effect on kids.

IELTS test in USA and New Zealand – July 2010 (Academic Module)

IELTS exams in USA and New Zealand were exactly the same. Our friends M and K (thank you!) sent us the following information:

Listening test

Section 1. Guest speaker facilities.
Section 2. University student was talking to a tutor.
Section 3. Don’t remember.
Section 4. The speaker was providing information about future shopping.

Reading test

Passage 1. Migration of birds.
Passage 2. A text on optimism and health benefits.
Passage 3. About ingenuity gap.

Writing test

Writing Task 1 (a report)

A bar graph showing the distribution of population in 4 different countries ( China, Sweden, Uganda and Germany) and worldwide, in 1975, 2002 and 2015 (prediction).

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

Some people say that university students should use their own money to pay for their studies, because it benefits individuals rather than the whole society. Others say that the government should help with tuition fees. Discuss. What is your opinion?

Interview
