IELTS exam in Moscow and Bahrain – February 2010 (General Training)

Thanks to T. from Moscow and M. from Bahrain we know that the IELTS exams there were identical. Here is what these kind people remembered:

Listening test

Section 1: Hotel room reservation.
Questions: Filling in 10 gaps.

Section 2: Universities comparison.
Questions: Multiple choice, choose what each University provides you with.

Section 3. About electrical cars and research on car batteries.
Questions: Multiple choice.

Section 4: Don’t remember.

Reading test

Passage 1: Four advertisements about apartments.
Questions: About the facilities each apartment provides, multiple choice, filling in the blanks.

Passage 2: About CV writing.
Questions: Filling in the blacks (one or two words from the passage).

Section 3: The history of tennis.
Questions: Information matching (about centuries it was played, 4 questions), True/False/Not Given (8 questions).

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a letter)

A construction company is building new shops next to your apartment and it is disturbing you.
Write a letter to a construction company manager:
– tell him who you are,
– say what exactly is disturbing you,
– let the manager know what you want him to do regarding this situation.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some people say that fashion for young people is becoming an important thing. This is causing a problem for the society and has its negative effects on young people. Do you agree or disagree? Give examples from your experience.

Describe the leisure time activity that you would like to do, please say
