Section 1. A conversation with a customer care representative about roadside car assistance.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Section 2. Two lecturers were discussing their students’ geology field trip.

Questions: filling in blanks.

Reading test

Passage 1. About congestion and causes of traffic in major cities.
Questions: short-answer questions, True/False/Not Given, match headings to paragraphs.

Passage 2. About green roofs in the UK, a research carried out by some scientists.
Questions: multiple choice, True/False/Not Given, match headings to paragraphs.

Passage 3. About languages and different ways we use them to communicate.
Questions: filling in blanks, short-answer questions (no more than 1 word), match headings to paragraphs.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given three pie charts (each chart described a different year). There were three categories on every chart showing post-study options, such as unemployed, employed, further studies, taken by Australian secondary school students.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Nowadays many young people are often spending their free time in shopping centers. This has a negative effect on the youths and the society. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give your opinion and relevant examples.
