IELTS is quickly becoming more and more popular in the USA. It is now recognized and accepted by 1700 institutions (click here to download a list) and there are 34 test centers in various states (click here for the full list).

The fact that there is a USA-dedicated IELTS website speaks for itself – http://www.test.registration-usa.com/. The website allows the students to see what exam dates are available and to register online. First, you have to fill in the details: Module (General Training or Academic), Country, City, Available test dates and Test Format. Strangely, the system doesn’t let you choose the city or the date, so you will get a list of all the dates for 2009 and all the cities where IELTS exams are available in USA.
