[...] I’ve received hundreds of emails after my previous post about the Interview part of IELTS Speaking test, all asking for more Speaking videos. So guess what - yesterday I spotted this one on Utube, I watched it 5 times and thought that it’s the perfect demonstration of what IELTS Speaking test is really like. It is as long as the real Speaking test and incudes all the parts: Introduction, Little speech and Discussion. [...]

[...] According to IELTS examiners, it is the quality of your writing that makes that half band of difference. Let me explain. I have written a post explaining how your Writing task gets graded, what things are important and what you can get marks for. So let’s take for example one of categories there, “Selecting what information to present”. If the examiner sees that you attempted to do that, but didn’t do it quite right (for example threw too much information away) - that could mean that you get half of band for attempting but not the full band because you didn’t do a very good job selecting information. Usually messing up in just one category is not enough to cost you half band; it would take two or three mess-ups of that kind. [...]

The letter?s grammar and sequence are really well structured; it?s only more effective to use simpler vocabulary to avoid unnecessary spelling mistakes.
One more thing, the signature should read ?wishes? not ?whishes?

You are confused because you think that there are 2 different types of topic, comparison and argument, when they are the same type. So here you should discuss 2 points of view - why some people think that Internet is isolating people and why others think it connects people. I hope that makes it clearer.

I'm going to take the IELTS test in the near future. Here I have a question about "TASK RESPONSE." I wonder how I would define which kind of title is a comparison one or an argument. As the example written in this article, "Internet:connecting or isolating people?", if the title changes into "Internet:isolating people" and ask me if I agree or not. Should I then write an argument instead of writing the comparison? Hope that u could understand what I'm talking about, cuz I got confused my self. Thank u very much!:)
