Writing task 1 (a letter)

You stayed in a hotel recently and forgot a few things that are important to you in the hotel room. Write a letter to the hotel manager and say

– Describe the items that you left.
– Where did you leave them?
– What would you like the manager to do with these items?

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

Some people think that younger generations are becoming less and less polite. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give your opinion and examples.

IELTS test in Saudi Arabia – January 2016 (Academic Module)

Our friend from Saudi Arabia took an IELTS exam recently in his country and remembered the following information:

Section 1. A conversation between a customer and a hotel receptionist.

Section 2. A teacher talked about different activities at school.

Section 3. About a scientific arrangement of apparatus.
Questions: diagram labelling.

Section 4. About the manufacturing process of pencils.

Passage 1. A review of a few popular books.

Passage 2. An article about the behaviour of ants.

Passage 3. The role of magic in scientific research.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given a bar graph and two pie charts showing the amount of water available in the world in different conditions and fresh water available in different forms. The bar graph was showing the use of fresh water in three different countries for a variety of purposes.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some say that for any country hosting an international sports event such as the Olympic Games is costly, inefficient and is a waste of money, while others disagree. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
