IELTS test in Nepal and Bangladesh – November 2015 (Academic Module)

Three IELTS test takers from Nepal and Bangladesh (thanks K, B, and A!) collectively remembered the following topics and questions. Their exams appeared to be identical (except for the Speaking subtest):

Section 4. About the development of plastic and artificial fibers.

Reading test

Passage 1. About the history and importance of banana.

Passage 2. About new technological developments in the academic area of history.

Passage 3. Don’t remember.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given a table and a graph showing the preferred after-school activities by Australian children aged 5-14 in intervals of two weeks in 2009.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some people think that economic growth is the only way to stop world’s poverty and hunger, while others say that economic growth is the cause of environmental disasters. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

– Do you work or study?
– What subjects are you studying?

– Why did you choose it?
– Do you like reading? Why?
– Can you tell me about a book you have read recently?
– Do you like to go to sleep early or stay up till late? Why?
– How do you feel in the next morning after staying up late?

Cue Card

Talk about a new skill that you would like to learn in the future. Please say

– What skill is it?
– Why do you want to learn it?
– Why is it important to learn this skill?

Discussion

– Do you think skills such as cooking are necessary for children to learn? Why?
– Describe skills provided by schools in the past and now.
– Are skills necessary in primary school? Why?
