Section 1. A phone call for a room reservation.

Reading test

Passage 1. About obesity issues in the USA.

Passage 2. About the scientist Jean Piaget and his theory that placed great importance on children’s education.
Questions: filling in blanks, short-answer questions, True/False/Not Given.

Passage 3. About monitoring of weather conditions in the 19th century.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given a line graph and a pie chart. The line graph showed the female prisoners’ population in a European country between 1909 and 2001, while the pie chart illustrated the type of crime committed by the prisoners.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some children nowadays take sports seriously while others play sports in their free time. Is it a positive or negative development? Give your own opinion and examples.
