Speaking test

Interview

– What is your name?

IELTS test in Ireland, UK and Iran – August 2010 (Academic Module)

IELTS exams in Ireland, UK and Iran were identical, according to our friends N, S and S, and here is what they collectively remembered:

Listening test

Section 1. A person was inquiring about a house for rent.
Questions: about the size of the room, what was included in the rent, businesses and schools in the area, location.

Section 2. A woman from Human Resources was presenting the Raleigh Mall to new employees. She explained what made her proud about the mall in terms of service and infrastructure. There was a map describing the mall.

Section 3. 2 students and a professor were talking about a seminar: what was a must to be presented, what they enjoyed during the execution, etc.

Section 4. New Zealand Children’s Nutrition Survey, including information about how the research was conducted and what vitamins children are missing the most.

Reading test

Passage 1. About Nobel Prize.
Passage 2. About bees.
Passage 3. All about advertisements of different industries (airline, computer, railway and shoes).

Writing test

Writing Task 1 (a report)

There was a line graph describing the percentage of students that studied 4 different types of courses in a UK college in the years 1985, 1995, 2005 and a prediction for the year 2015. Course types were online, mixed media, correspondence, face to face.

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

Some people believe that long imprisonment of criminals is the only way to reduce crime rate. Others believe there should be alternative ways. Discuss and state your opinion.
