IELTS Speaking questions from Nairobi, Kenya – May 2010

IELTS exam in Kenya was just like the test given in Hungary, Kosovo, Serbia and Iran (how about that!). Here are the questions shared by our friend O:

Speaking test

Interview

– What is your full name?
– What shall I call you?
– Do you work / are you a student?
– Where do you come from ?
– What color do you like and why?
– Does it have any meaning?
– What colors in your country have meanings?

Cue Card

Talk about a movie that you watched lately, please say:
– What was the movie about?
– When and where did you see it?
– What did you like and what didn’t you like?

Discussion

– Do you agree that parents should know what their children are watching?
– What effects do movies have on children?

IELTS test in Canada – May 2010 (Academic Module)

IELTS exam in Canada was described by M (thanks a lot!) who remembered some of the Reading, the Writing and the Speaking:

Reading test

Passage 1. About water shortage in a certain area and some solutions for it.
Passage 2. Teaching maths to infants and toddlers and some opinions about it.
Passage 3. Don’t remember.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a report)

We had a process diagram describing how salted peanuts are produced, starting in the fields and ending in the market and shops. There were 5 pictures in the diagram.

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

Some people think that criminals should stay in prison, however, others think that they need medical and psychological assistance. What is your opinion?
