IELTS test in Australia was share by S, K and A, and here is what they collectively remembered:

Listening test

Section 1. About women’s organizations.
Section 2. About an art gallery and its map showing all the rooms.
Section 3. About second hand furniture.
Section 4. About Indian women.

Reading test

No one managed to remember the topics.

Writing test

Writing Task 1 (a letter)
You would like to work for a company abroad. Write a letter to an employment agency, saying:
– what kind of company you want to work for,
– why you want to work there and why,
– why you want to work abroad.

Writing task 2 (an essay)
More and more people are wearing fashionable clothes. Is this a positive or negative development? Give reasons to support your answer.

Speaking test

Interview

– What is your name?
– What do you do, work or study?
– Why did your choose this course?
– How much time do you spend watching TV?
– What kind of programs do you watch when you want to relax?

Cue Card 1

Describe a trip that did not go as well as you planned, please say:
– what happened,
– where it happened,
– what did you do.

Cue Card 2

Talk about an exciting sport, please say:
– what it is,
– how to play it,
– why it is exciting.

Discussion
– Do you understand why people choose to play sports which are dangerous?
– What qualities a person needs to succeed in playing such sports?

IELTS test in India – March 2010 (General Training)

IELTS test in India was shared by our caring friend G (thank you!) and here is what we know:

Listening test

Section 1, Part 1. Two people discussed events, their show time, venue and type of event.
Questions: filling in the gaps, Q1 – Q4.

Section 1, Part 2. Names of the authors and what they write about, for example: fiction, crime, etc.
Questions: filling in the gaps, Q5 – Q10.

Section 2. A scientist talked about types of inventions, material used and where the idea came from (Internet, TV programs, etc).
Questions: there were two diagrams but they were not to be looked at, because it was just to confuse. The questions were filling in the gaps, Q10 – Q17.

Section 3. A man was telling about the zoos and his responsibilities in the zoo, why he was interested in animals, etc.
Questions: multiple choice, Q18 – Q28.

Section 4. A seminar about the Physical Education (PE), why it is important,
Questions: Q28 – Q40.

Reading Test

Passage 1. Don’t remember the topic.
Questions: filling in the gaps, Q1 – Q6.

Passage 2. Don’t remember the topic.
Questions: True/False/Not Given, Q7 – Q12.

Passage 3. New government rules about paid leaves.
Questions: filling in the gaps, complete a map, Q13 – Q22.

Passage 4. Life in the Sahara Desert and how ants survive in these extremely hot conditions.
Questions:
(a) Match a heading (A – H) to a paragraph, Q23 – Q27.
(b) Multiple choice, Q28 – Q34.
(c) Filling in the gaps, Q35-Q40.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a letter)

You are not satisfied with the changing room in the sports center that you visit. Write a letter to the manager, in your letter say:
– what the problem is,
– how you feel about this problem,
– what steps you want the manager to take.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some people prefer to spend their free time with people of same age group, while others prefer to spend time with people of all age groups. Discuss, include relevant examples from your experience.

– What should I call you?
– Do you work or do you study?
– Did you undergo any training to get this job?
– Do you think you need more training and why?
– Do you eat fruit and vegetables?
– Why do you think fruit and vegetables are important?

Cue card
If you were given a chance to change your job, please say what job would you
choose:
– how different it is from your current job,
– why this new job is important to you,
– whether or not you need more skills for this job.

Discussion
– Why do people change their jobs?
– Who influences children when they choose their career?
– Do children need guidance in choosing their jobs?
– Do you think some parents force their children to choose a career that they think suits their child best?
– How can the children get help with choosing their career?
– Do you know anyone who has made a career change?
