Update from General IELTS exam, Holland

Straight from Amsterdam, this update was shared by anonymous student, who is planning immigration to New Zealand ? good luck, pal!

Listening

1) A male person complaining over the phone to a company female person about items which were broken during the transport. They spoke BBC English. There was an easy table to fill in.

2) The story was about a female person telling what kind of employees they are searching for their clothing company. The task was a gap-filling text. They spoke BBC English.

3) A student talking about a survey held about fat (food) replacements. Not so clear to hear, because of an accent. Multiple choice, Gap filing, Table filling

Reading

1) A leaflet about different sightseeing tours in London. Multiple choice, easy stuff.

2) Library rules, task - true/false/not given, a kind of header placing. Not that difficult, but you had to read carefully.

3) Differences between men and women. Task: headers placing, true/false/not given. Difficult to read, even if it was in my native language (Dutch) it would be difficult to place the right headers.

Writing

Task 1
Writing a letter to a friend asking for help with a short holiday in the area of this friend, asking for information, etc.

Task 2
Students are working for companies sometimes for free. Advantages and disadvantages about this.

Speaking

Interview
Starting with general questions, like where do you live, do you like your village etc.
How about the weather in Holland, are there problems with it?

Little speech
Did you recently received a postcard or a mail. Tell me about it.
